Secretary of State Ken Bennett to present LSTA grant to the Library District

Released: June 19, 2013

Secretary of State Ken Bennett will be visiting Yavapai County to present the Yavapai County Free Library District with Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant funds.  The Arizona State Library and Archives Public Records is a department of the Secretary of State’s office which is disbursing the funds.

The grant will allow the Mayer Elementary School (MES) and the Mayer High School (MHS) libraries to become the newest members of the Yavapai Library Network (YLN).  The funds will be used to process their collections so they can be made available to all the residents of Yavapai County.  MES and MHS will also have access to the 1.25 million items from the rest of the YLN membership.  The cost savings from joining the YLN will also allow Mayer High School to reopen their library after it was forced to close due to budget constraints.

Please join us for the presentation of the LSTA grant funds from Secretary of State Ken Bennett on June 27th at 2:30 pm at the Mayer Elementary School which is located at 12568 E. Main Street in Mayer.

This project was supported with funds granted the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Arizona Secretary of State, under the Library Services and Technology Act, which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
